Continuing on with my background information, I'm going to talk about what sort of medical problems I have, the drugs I take and the reasons why I believe in Kevin Trudeau.
Medical conditions:
Asthma/allergies: I'm allergic to dust, pet hair (I own two beagles), fragrances and hair sprays. If it has fur or a strong scent, I cannot go near it without coughing/wheezing/sneezing or in the case of pets, without developing a skin rash when I touch certain animals. I'm currently takign Singulair once a day, Flovent twice a day and albuterol as needed.
Obesity: This is obvious. It's because I overeat and don't get enough exercise. I just recently started working, though. Being a lowly cashier at Rite Aid at least gets me off my feet and away from the computer. But it also puts me in the direct line of various snack foods and unhealthy frozen treats and meals. Unfortunately, that is all we stock in our store as far as food goes. There are only four organic items I've counted in the entire store. So my solution will be to make my own lunch. It's cheaper, easier than waiting in line during the lunch rush and it'll be healthier.
Suspected Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and Diabetes: I believe that I don't have either, but according to my registered nurse practioner (I'll call her Dr. anyway), I do. I do have some excess body hair, and Oligomenorrhea/Amenorrhoea due to my weight. I used to take Metformin but have stopped due to a reaction to it-increased swelling of the breast.
Scoliosis/Kyposis: Abnormal curvature of the spine. Leads to backaches and all sorts. At the moment, I don't need a brace but if it comes to it, I may need one.
Staph infections/Boils: I'm very susceptibile to them. That's about all I need to tell you.
I'm most likely forgetting a few in that list beyond general aches/pains, pimples and so on, but that's the general rundown of my health. If asked how I feel, I would give myself an 89% out of 100%. God knows I'm not running at my best.
Now. My reason for listening to Kevin Trudeau is this: He makes sense.
Seriously. He makes sense to me. My mother brought his first book Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About, and his second book, More Natural Cures "They Don't Want You To Know About. I ended up buying his third book, The Weight Loss Cure "They" Don't Want You To Know About. I'm rereading the books for the third or fourth time. The first time I read the books, I remember thinking, "What? Bullshit...", the second time I was angry that this was happening, and this time it's come to a sort of acceptance. I've come to accept that there's food additives in the food we eat and water we drink, poison in the air we breathe, stress and electromagnetic chaos surrounding us. I've even noticed the effects.
1. Radiation from the computer has begun to affect my memory. Of course, being addicted to the thing hasn't helped, but having no form of electromagnetic chaos reducer to reduce the effects has begun to affect my memory. Maybe it's an exaggeration, but I remember less of what I used to. I have a harder time remembering people's names or faces.
2. Working at Rite Aid, it's incredible the amounts of pills, elixers, syrups, tablets, gels, wipes, etc. there are to help people with their colds. There's an entire aisle of laxatives and fiber capsules. But what about prune juice? What about castor oil? They don't exist at the store. I also seem to recall a study conducted a few years ago (here's a link: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/181045_soy07.html) telling people that cough syrup is no better than flavored water, yet there's an entire aisle dedicated to it!
3. Following Kevin Trudeau's recommendation of drinking organic yerba mate tea with no cream or sugar or lemon (the first product on this page in the yellow box, to be exact http://www.guayaki.com/index.php?p=view_category&category_id=11 ) and the difference is amazing already. It's caffeinated, however, but the caffeine in it does not have the same effect that caffeine from coffee does-heart palpitations, trembling, and an extreme crash in the middle of the afternoon. One cup in the morning, I've been taking it for three weeks now and the difference is already amazing. I'm normally sick this time of year with all sorts of colds or flus-so far, nothing (knock on wood!). I have more energy (duh) and I'm feeling better than I have in months. Plus you make it with hot, not boiling water, so there's a smaller chance of you burning your mouth off. And it's tasty-it tastes like grass and herbs but it's not unpleasant at all.
4. The metformin I was on and the side effect it's caused. I had a blood test done with a glucose meter and my blood sugar was completely normal. Let me say that again. My blood sugar was completely normal. But I was still put on Metformin anyways, 60 of the little tablets to take! Why? I suspect it's the money my nurse/practioner makes. Maybe my blood sugar was borderline. But 60 goddamn tablets?!? Regardless, I've already told you my reaction I've had-swelling. It's dumbfounded the nurses and doctors at the clinic and it all happened within two days of taking the pills.
5. My mother had breast cancer two years ago. They caught it early enough and used surgery to take it out. But she's since been placed on radiation pills and her health has deteriorated. She takes Tums every day, complains of heart pain, complains of headaches on the very top of her head, and yet she fights my father and I when she tell her it's her pills. It's her potassium pills and her estrogen pills and her radiation pills and her calcium pills, but she fights us and yells and screams it's NOT the pills. And in the meantime her health gets worse and worse and worse.
6. My father (and my mother) both grew up on farms in rural Canada and they would eat organic and as fresh as possible. My parents had the usual colds, flus and such as children but they were not sick as they are now. My father loved his salads. Every day he would eat a huge, heaping salad with all kinds of vegetables in and Italian dressing with oil and vinegar. None of it was organic but it was healthy, right? Wrong. The salad nearly killed him. He developed a blood clot in his leg and was rushed to the emergency room complaining of pain in his leg. If he had stayed in the emergency room and gotten a bed with the doctor administering the shots, it would have cost us over $5,000. Dad took the shots home, learned how to administer them himself and it still cost us $1,000. Now he's taking Coumadin every day. The thing is, he still has leg pain and doesn't feel as well as he normally does.
I could go on and on but for now, I'll stop. Feel free to comment or disagree or agree with me. This is merely what I believe and what I'm observed, however, my opinions may change over time.
For lunch, I'm craving nachos something fierce but I'll try chips with mild salsa instead, and a tuna salad sandwich. I'll reduce the amount of mayo I put in (from 1 tablespoon to 1 teaspoon) and put in a teaspoon of dijon mustard and a teaspoon of honey instead. I already put in celery and onion and used the tuna packed in water. I'll also add in a sliced tomato if we have any.
